Thank you for telling your story in your own words. I grew up listening to your music. I wasn’t a super fan or anything, but always thought the way the paps hunted all you celebs for sport was absolutely disgusting.

The stories they’d fabricate just didn’t track for me. But this story does. Again, thanks for telling it.

The only thing that would have made the audio book better, would have been your voice narrating. Hearing the authors words that way is always special. With that said I completely respect your decision not to, and Michelle did an excellent job.

I was expecting a book about finance but so far all its doing is whining with very little mention of anything connected to the title. This book reads like a bait and switch.

I read a lot and its rare that I do this…. But I’m not going to finish this one. Its disappointing.

…. Capitalism strikes again.

It seems the more I read, the more I inform myself, and the more I learn, profit is always more important than the health and well-being of consumers. Alden’s book acutely depicts this theme in fashion and textile industries.

I’ve purchased this as an audiobook, but given the nature and depth of research that has gone into the body of work, i’ll be purchasing a hard copy as well to gain access to the references.

I’ve often believed that when I pick up a book to read it, its important that it be something that challenges me and something that stands to teach me. Anyone can write a feel good book about positive futures but Nouriel has written one about very real problems that we as the human race will face if we continue to ignore exploring possible solutions. As I write this review the US economy is heading toward a prolonged bear market and in many finance groups I follow the narrative is usually “Where’s the bottom?” With very little discussion on how we got there or how to prevent it in the future.

I’ll be reading this one again, but with a notebook by my side.
