I wasn't sure about this book at the beginning, but as I continued listening, I found myself enjoying it. The characters are engaging and the plot is interesting. The murderer wasn't easy to guess and overall the story is pretty good. Ann Richardson did a good a narrating this book.

I love the Guild Codex series which is why I gave this series another chance. I'm just not sure. Robin isn't a very interesting character. The story is ok, but it's ruined by the interruption of Robin thinking or speaking.

I couldn't finish this book. The Samantha Kidd is a complete idiot who constantly makes idiotic decisions. I finally couldn't stand it anymore so I skipped to the end of the book. The reason for the murder didn't make sense. I returned the book and will not get another book in this series.

I had a hard time getting through this book. The plot was predictable and Athena was a bit of an idiot. I found her actions unbelievable. The rest of the characters were also flat. I just didn't like it. The only thing that was interesting was the blog entries. But, the entries were very personal and I can't believe no one figured out that Athena was writing them.

Best Murder in Show is a pretty good book, but it's more chick lit than mystery. Debbie Young took a very long time developing her characters, then threw in a murder towards the end of the book. But, in doing so, you can't help but finish the book because by then you are invested in the story.

Story
Every human life is supposed to be important. Everyone should matter. But that’s not the case in the cutthroat TV news-rating world where Clare Carlson works. Sex, money, and power sell. Only murder victims of the right social strata are considered worth covering. Not the murder of a “nobody”. So, when the battered body of a homeless woman named Dora Gayle is found on the streets of New York City, her murder barely gets a mention in the media. But Clare's TV news director, who still has a reporter’s instincts, decides to dig deeper into the seemingly meaningless death.
