Well that’s Awkward…
Reviewed: 05-02-24
As a book, the affirmations are okay. But as an audiobook, there was an awkward recording error where the affirmations started skipping like a scratched disk and the lady recording the audiobook starts getting frustrated and then sighs and said “ughhhhhh please Lord!!” In her real normal angry voice, not her usual recording voice where she’s super happy and enthusiastic sounding in her fake voice that she uses for the affirmations. Then there’s this rustling and she’s sniffling like she was crying It just really threw me off. It was at the last 30 seconds of the positive thoughts chapter right before I was about to fall asleep and it was so weird it woke me up and I had to rewind it to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. Also I didn’t like how the narrator switches back and forth from “you” statements to “I” statements. I think all the “you” statements should be changed to “I” statements. Anyways I felt bad for the narrator and just shows that nobody’s life is perfect and if the narrator still gets frustrated after recording herself saying an hour of positive thought affirmations then maybe that is just kind of proof this doesn’t really work…
