Story
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

War looms on the horizon.... After the colonization of Mars and Europa, it took us fewer than five generations to reach beyond our solar system and colonize new planets capable of supporting human life. Power struggles have made a galactic war inevitable, and only an old mail runner, a space pirate, and their ragtag crews can prevent it.

I started listening to this five part saga with absolutely no knowledge about the story. However, I had already really enjoyed a bunch of Zombie books previously from Rachel Aukes, so I just went for it!
Well guess what?
Tis a blast from start to finish, with tonnes of twists 'n' turns, terror + tears, terrific trials.... & troubles!
T’was a sad day when the story ended, but perhaps Rachel will bring back the Fringe Series for another round? Certainly hope so!

To be honest I wasn’t expecting this to be so good, what with the story being told by 4 narrators. I just wanted the excellent Tim Gerard Reynolds to continue telling the (his) tale!! It actually makes sense as we now have these four main characters....but it gets mixed up for a while, when narration overlaps (no spoilers here!).
Anyway folks, the plot thickens, speeds up and darkens, but is still epic and hugely exciting. Waiting for part 4.......

Story
Anomaly examines the prospect of an alien intelligence discovering life on Earth. The technological gulf between humanity and the alien species is measured in terms of millions of years. The only way to communicate is using science, but not everyone is so patient. Humanity's first contact with an alien intelligence is far more radical than anyone has ever dared imagine. With a technological gap of millions of years, mankind is barely able to recognize the arrival of an alien space craft outside the gates of the United Nations in New York.

An immensely powerful alternative story of first contact with aliens and the, in some ways disastrous, in some ways mind-opening effects of the getting-to-know-each-other process!
This was one of Peter Cawdron’s earliest books and he certainly set the bar high! Lucky for his fans he hasn’t disappointed us since then!!
Great audiobook adaptation by the way!

Excellent Audiobook Adaptation
Reviewed: 10-25-17
James Highfield did an excellent multifaceted and at times very hilarious job on Eamon’s this six-part Artificial Intelligence / Dystopian Saga.
I read and really enjoyed the individual short stories as they came out through 2015 and 2016 and ‘twas great to revisit the Omnibus as an audiobook.
(Below my sometimes overexcitable original reviews -> each FIVE STAR).
Part One:
Great short story! (So good I already bought the second part straight after I finishing reading it, back when it came out as an individual short story)
No spoilers here -> yes there is a few surprises towards the end of of the book!
Part Two:
Speechless/ Sprachlos!
Part Three:
Excellent continuation of Eamon's AI / dystopian saga - number 3, from a total of 5!
Hurry up & get the next one, cause this is great fun & each page a surprise awaits the reader.
Part Four:
Bloody hell this was a great read!
Eamon, you did it again -> left us waiting & wondering WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Can we add a Greatreads feature to Goodreads? Anyone?
An epic story like this is a prime example of the excellent short stories being written by indie writers in the last few years. Good old fashioned dystopian literature in episodes, which has been written fresh 'n' fast, making sure WE the readers stay on the edge of our seats.
Part Five:
Loving it Eamon, but I don't have a clue how this all is gonna rap-up in the up and coming 'grand finale'?
Are you sure that you don't need another couple? Ah go on...
Part Six:
Tremendous ending to an amazing series of short stories from our man Eamon Ambrose!

Story
Hazel is a regular teenager growing up in an irregular world overrun with zombies. She likes music, perfume, freshly baked muffins, and playing her Xbox - everything that no longer exists in the apocalypse. Raised in the safety of a commune, Hazel rarely sees Zee anymore, except on those occasions when the soldiers demonstrate the importance of a headshot to the kids. To her horror, circumstances beyond her control lead her outside the barbed wire fence and into a zombie-infested town.

.... yes this is the German language version and should only be purchased by those with sufficient knowledge of this language!
I never read the book from Christoper Paolini or previously heard the English language audiobook version. All I can say is that Andreas Fröhlich’s performance of book 1, so many different characters and voices is tremendous.
Hugely enjoyable stuff!

"The Traveler" is the story of Tee, a 12-year-old girl who, every day after school, works as an apprentice in her father's black smith shop. From him she learns how to weld, forge, and make beautiful things out of ordinary pieces of steel and metal. When her dad has a stroke, and lying on his death bed, he whispers one last inaudible word to his daughter. Following it, Tee eventually discovers a notebook hidden inside his workshop. In it, she finds detailed instructions on how to build a time machine.

The audiobook narration by Arden Hammersmith is excellent and very touching.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY READ THE BOOK!

Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

I read this excellent book from Neil Gaiman about 10 years ago, straight after finishing his epic American Gods. At the time I was pleasantly surprised find this extremely funny TALL tale, that goes off in another direction, showing the reader a cheeky, comical said to the author!
When the audiobook version was recently a Daily Deal on Audible and I jumped at the chance, because I loved the book and I knew (since my childhood) that Lenny Henry is a funny guy.
No nonsense..... THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST AND FUNNIEST NARRATION PERFORMANCES EVER.
