Story
On a rocky beach in the southwest of Ireland, the body of Jimmy O’Reilly, sixty-nine years old and dressed in a suit and his dancing shoes, is propped on a boulder, staring sightlessly out to sea. A cryptic message is spelled out next to the body with sixty-nine polished black stones and a discarded vial of deadly veterinarian medication lies nearby. Jimmy was a wealthy racehorse owner, known far and wide as The Dancing Man. In a town like Dingle, everyone knows a little something about everyone else. But dig a bit deeper, and there’s always much more to find.

struggling mightily to get into this story. narration is simply monotonous, dry reading of words. no personality given to different characters. I can't figure out who is who. it's like trying to find my way in the dark.
I'm sorry I wasted a credit on it.

Story
A new Miss Julia novel from New York Times best-selling author Ann B. Ross is a special treat for her devoted fans as well as those new to the adventures of the titular senior citizen. This time out, the proper Southern lady has a couple doozies on her plate. It seems that her friend Hazel’s PI husband, J.D,. has gotten himself in some trouble in West Virginia - and he’s one tirade away from landing in a jail cell. Meanwhile, a crew of misfits has followed wealthy Agnes Whitman back to Abbotsville, and they have all the makings of a crazy religious cult!

the problem I run into, is that the author's writing style, along with the narrator's narrating style, make it very difficult to stop at any point. they grip your attention and leave you feeling as though if you just hung on a few more minutes... never works. every moment is intriguing.

Story
With her husband, Sam, off on a trip to Europe, Miss Julia takes a pause to reflect on the past few decades - realizing how the comforts and joys of her life can sometimes give way to boredom. Miss Julia reckons it's about time to roll up her sleeves and be of some use to her community. She's just considering how to get involved when she hears that the nosy do-gooder Madge Taylor and the new pastor Rucker are embarking on a mission to buy up the vacant house down the street from Miss Julia and establish a group home for wayward teenagers.

loved this story. would like to ask negative reviewers caught up with rage and petulance against Miss Julia, and the author...
who ever taught you that your opinions, political or otherwise... gave you the right to slam and attack anyone who differs from your chosen Ideals? its Very possible that its You, who is wrong...
those attacking the author for exposing a political bent through this story... What Are you smoking?!
Firstly, it may have escaped yr notice... but Miss Julia, as well as all the other characters in the series... are Not real people.. they are Made Up... and if the Author Does write a story making a political stand clear... so? Ann B Ross wrote the book.. its a Story... take from it what you choose... just stop attacking people because their Fictional Characters don't hold the same opinions as you. Thats a bit Weird... I don't always like Miss Julia's choices or opinions.... but each story has its own dilemmas, delights, and engrossing plots. put down the political weed and enjoy another great story.

Welcome Back to a Good Ms. Julia tale.
Reviewed: 12-31-21
After three disappointing stories in this normally delightfully fun and exciting Ms. Julia series, we once again see the spunk and dogged determination of the heroine, as well as that of one of her more complimentary side characters.
Much better and more absorbing storyline. would love to see more of the almost non stop excitement and crazy interconnected plot lines of the original editions. 15,16,and 17 were a bit bland and with less of the climactic excitement I had come to so enjoy in Ms. Ross's Ms. Julia adventures.

Story
In this episode, the graceful Southern lady’s impeccable manners are pushed to the brink. When she learned her philandering (and late) husband left behind a lover and illegitimate son, Miss Julia could have gotten nasty. Instead, she kept her cool, adding Hazel Marie and Little Lloyd to her makeshift family. But now rumors are surfacing that call Little Lloyd’s patrilineage into question. Has Miss Julia been duped?

Meet the Sassy Belles. They're strong as a mint julep, sweet as peach cobbler, and no matter what, they stick together. There are only two seasons in Tuscaloosa - football and waiting-for-football. When Lewis Heart, football announcer and voice of the Crimson Tide, vanishes after an impromptu romp with Vivi Ann McFadden at the Fountain Mist Motel, Vivi does what any Southern woman would do: Call her best friend, Blake O'Hara Heart, attorney-at-law.

Story weak and overembellished with distractions. Narration flat. Characters seem vague snd unbelievable.
Story line interesting... but I dont know what happens. Audible accessed my library and locked this title overnight, is demanding that I buy it with a credit or cash if I want to continue.
I complained, and was told to log out, then in again. That didn't work, so I removed the title from my library. When I tried downloading it again... pay up or I dont get to finish the story.

Story
When Betty MacDonald married a marine and moved to a small chicken farm on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, she was largely unprepared for the rigors of life in the wild. With no running water, no electricity, a house in need of constant repair, and days that ran from four in the morning to nine at night, the MacDonalds had barely a moment to put their feet up and relax. And then came the children. Yet through every trial and pitfall - through chaos and catastrophe - this indomitable family somehow, mercifully, never lost its sense of humor.

too many nebulous side stories that never reach conclusions in story. all are simply finished off with the mention that characters are present at what seems to be a final service at Trinity for Fr. Tim, possibly, and then a moment of pleasant country peace months later. No wedding story, no Kenny story, Annie, David, Dovey, Ruby, Juble?
