Story
A coup has thrown the kingdom of Farshores into turmoil, and one of the pretender’s first moves was to order mercenaries to invade the Mage District and put all its inhabitants - men, women, and children - to the sword. There is one survivor: Horace Stonecutter, the youngest son of the Stonecutter family. Consumed with anger and a hunger for retribution, he journeys out to find who ordered the murder of his family. Along his bloody journey, he meets kings, princes, princesses, noblemen - and not so noble men. May God have mercy on his enemies - because he won’t.

Story
Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

I really enjoyed this humorous book about a woman with whom I could truly identify. And I love the podcast angle. The narrator is 100% brilliant with her rendition of the characters. I gave it 4 stars on the story because it was a little what I call fluffy. But I adore my fluffy books when I want to sit on my couch or do laundry and just relax and have an easy book to enjoy. It's like getting your gooey cookies and coffee set up on the end table while you relax on the sofa in your PJs and a soft blanket with your dog cuddled up beside you. Anyway, I loved the book. I don't think it will achieve the Nobel prize but I would certainly read it again. I'm sorry I rambled. I really like your books Tara Sivic and great narration Andi Arndt!

Can't Believe This is a Debut Book

Imagine my surprise when I finished this book to hear the author say it's his first foray into the literary world. The book is great. I completely enjoyed the characters and thoroughly hated the "bad guy" to the point of rolling my eyes every time he spoke. Parts of the plot surprised me and I'm generally not surprised. My only suggestion is I want more. I want to know more about the characters. I want to know more about the situation. I will definitely pick up Mr. Grumley's next book.
Try the new guy on for size. I think you will enjoy it.

Reviewed: 10-24-19
This book is light reading and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the narrator could put people to sleep reciting the sex scenes in this book. I could be a better narrator and I have no business making audio with my voice. I do not usually critique a book this harshly but Ms. Wilde hire another narrator in the future.

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job?

First, I intend to read the series. I enjoyed the story. This book has humor, action and is unpredictable. The characters could be a bit more complete especially the primary support characters but I believe that Annette Marie will provide that in the following books. My rating is a 4 star right now but I expect my rating will improve with the following books

I really enjoy Oliver Wyman's performance. The story is interesting. It is written in 3 parts. Almost like 3 short stories. It is wild west with a small twist. The author has a good story but there are a few spots that didn't flow well for me. Almost a "how did we get here?" moment. I backed up a couple times to see if I missed something. The story didn't keep my attention.
