Story
Two years ago, a hostile Prime Minister launched the Monochrome inquiry, investigating "historical over-reaching" by the British Secret Service “to investigate historical over-reaching.” Monochrome’s mission was to ferret out any hint of misconduct by any MI5 officer—and allowed Griselda Fleet and Malcolm Kyle, the two civil servants seconded to the project, unfettered access to any and all confidential information in the Service archives in order to do so. But MI5’s formidable First Desk did not become Britain’s top spy by accident, and she has successfully thwarted the inquiry at every turn.

I am so impressed with Cassidy and her ability to distance and stand up for what she believed to be right. This was no small feat given the environment and the pressures of that environment. She was so young to be thrust into this and with an excited and supportive view of Trump and Mark going in. How many of us have experienced bosses we wanted to believe in and later discovered our trust and enthusiasm was misguided. I can't imagine how tough this was for someone so early in their career. the book is well written and easy to track and listen to. Cassidy's narration makes it even more enjoyable. Well done 👍

When the sheriff is murdered, his son is asked to take his place. Bobby Trent is a semi-retired rodeo cowboy and the son of a highly respected law officer. When his father, the sheriff, is murdered, Trent is asked to fulfill the remaining months of his term in office. Sheriff Bobby Trent; nobody would have guessed it, but it should be an easy enough task; drink a little coffee, maybe lead a parade. Easy work until he is healthy enough to return to the circuit.
