Story
The war of Honce drags on, and the roads and seas are littered with bodies. To everyone's stunned disbelief, Yeslnik the Fool has tipped the war's scales in his favor. The reign of the newly self-appointed King Yeslnik is already distinguished as the most bloody and merciless in Honce history. Trapped, Dame Gwydre and Father Artolivan concoct a desperate plot to join forces with Laird Ethelbert, the lesser of two vicious evils. But Ethelbert's paid assassins slew Jameston Sequin and nearly did the same to Bransen.

Good ending

It was a satisfying buildup and conclusion. I would have preferred a slightly different ending, but overall well done Salvatore.

Best dramatization I’ve heard
Reviewed: 06-18-24
The story was alright. I would have preferred more Cadayle. I’ve listened to maybe four book dramatizations, though, and this is the best one I’ve heard. Talented actors, no doubt about it.

Story
Insurrection is in the air in the city of Ankh-Morpork. The Haves and Have-Nots are about to fall out all over again. Captain Sam Vimes of the city's ramshackle Night Watch is used to this. It's enough to drive a man to drink. Well, to drink more. But this time, something is different - the Have-Nots have found the key to a dormant, lethal weapon that even they don't fully understand and they're about to unleash a campaign of terror on the city. Time for Captain Vimes to sober up.

Not for the casual American listener
Reviewed: 02-15-24
There are two major issues with this reading.
The actor is undoubtedly talented with his convincing and myriad voices, but even with my higher-than-average consumption of British media I found it very difficult to listen and still casually understand his sometimes slurred and heavily accented speech. If listening was the only thing I was doing, it would have been easier, but I’m usually multitasking when I read audiobooks.
The other issue is the chapters. There are chapter breaks in the recording, but at no point does anyone say the actual words “chapter seventeen” or anything that indicates a break or change. Surprisingly to me, this made it very challenging to follow the plot and, over halfway through the book, I admit I don’t understand much of what is going on.
These two issues combine to make a painful listening experience. When I listen to an audiobook, I sometimes get distracted and have to replay the last few seconds of audio in my mind to identify what was happening and who was speaking, but this recording made it impossible for me to ever do that. I have no desire to finish reading. And I wonder if this recording was maybe targeted at those already familiar with Pratchett’s work.

Story
He has been known by countless names and terrifying deeds throughout the lands of mankind - thief, magic wielder, swordsman, assassin, adventurer. But chief among those names and perhaps the most dangerous of his personae is that of Nightfall, a man - or perhaps the legendary demon himself - gifted with unique powers which any sorcerer would kill to possess. Yet though Nightfall has always escaped his pursuers by moving on to new realms, new identities, and new enterprises, even the cleverest of beings must occasionally slip.

This is one of the best books I’ve read. Characterization is top notch, plot doesn’t waste time, and every word matters. I can’t say I’ve read anything else quite like it. Osman’s style is conversational and elegant.
