Loved this storyline. I will have to listen to more books by this author. She’s got the romance thing down!

so many things went wrong with this story when it could have actually been a good one. The complaining of the main character drove me crazy! the Narration is just soooo bad that i had to stop and start multiple times as her voice made me cringe. Dont pay $ for this book but if you have the romance package at least you can try it for yourself before you return it.

Story
Keisha Beale, a street-wise Chicago south-sider two years out of DePaul University, is a quarter million dollars in start-up capital away from realizing her dream of owning a recording studio/record store. Tristan White is the devastatingly handsome, 32-year-old CEO of White Enterprises, the firm he built using only the inheritance his mother left him to prove to his father he had the mettle to do it alone. When Keisha and Tristan's worlds collide, sparks fly, and a fever is ignited in them both that they have never experienced before.

Omg the voice almost had me stop!
Reviewed: 06-08-18
Ok, story is ok, though some of the voices that the character seems to have in her head are so annoying and unnecessary. As an African American woman some of the stereotypes of our people were poorly written and most times offensive.
I was interested in The story underneath so I stuck with it. Someone else may not be as patient. If the same voice actor is on the second book I won’t be able to handle it. So I guess I’ll have to look into spoilers to see how it all ends.

Dear Lauren
Will you be my best friend?
Thank you for being fully expressed, sharing, and authentic. It just made me fall in love with you as Lauren and not just as Lorelei.

Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”
