Story
William M. Hinman was a life-long educator and poet, alive during the turn of the 20th century. But until now, the only people who had the privilege of listening to his poems were his friends and relatives. Tommy Hawks Hill, a compilation of Hinman's poetry edited by his great-great-grandson Robert Todd Christensen, offers 21st-century listeners the opportunity to see the late 1800s and early 1900s through new eyes.

I simply loved how William Hinman reflects on his youthful days gone by, his love for his wife- who died at an early age, and his passion for his students and fellow teachers. A man who dedicated his entire self for others.
Which character – as performed by Jeff Hoyt – was your favorite?
My favorite poem is "My Dog". This will simply make you cry.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I found the era of the German invasion across Europe and how our nation was called to DEFENSE stirred the inner spirit of Americanism within me.
Any additional comments?
Jeff Hoyt did an amazing performance bringing this moment in time to life. I know I will listen over, and over, and over again.
