Story
Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize David McCullough tells the dramatic story behind the story about the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright.
On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright's Wright Flyer became the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The Age of Flight had begun. How did they do it? And why?

I had always considered myself pretty educated on all things related to flying and the Wright Brothers, but there was so much information in this book new to me that I realize I hardly knew anything. The author has done an amazing research job, and has put it together in a way so easy to listen to that you feel you really know these two Brothers by the end.

I liked the first book in the series, but after reading some of the reviews for this one I had some hesitations. I am a Christian, but some of the reviews made it sound like this book was more overt proselytizing than action and adventure. I've read some of those, and they're not much good. THIS book, however, was EXCELLENT! Sure, the main character is a Christian, and if you're a true Christian it's going to be noticeable to those around you. How much do you have to hate someone to know you have the information to save them an eternity in hell and not tell them about it? The main character does that in this book, but that's about 5 minutes in one chapter. If you're going to pass up this book for that, you're doing yourself a huge disservice. This book is as good or better than any Clancy, Cussler, or Baldacci novel. I can't wait to listen to the rest of the series!

Story
In this stirring audiobook, David McCullough tells the intensely human story of those who marched with General George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence, when the whole American cause was riding on their success, without which all hope for independence would have been dashed and the noble ideals of the Declaration would have amounted to little more than words on paper.

The author has done a wonderful job in both research and presentation. This is a wonderfully written book that dramatically shows God's providence in the formation of our country. There's no way we should have beaten the British.

On a NUMA training mission in the Caribbean, Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala catch a distress call from a nearby freighter. Leaping into action, they locate a damaged vessel and a dead captain clutching a shotgun. While searching the freighter for clues, Kurt and Joe are ambushed by crew members who seem terrified and disoriented, almost brainwashed. The trawler they were hauling has vanished, taken—the men say—by baffling lights that circled the ship.

Mr. Brown has done a fantastic job as a follow-up to Clive Cussler. Really couldn't tell it was a different author. He's brought in a lot of up-to-date world events to help, and thankfully only had one minor tilt to the climate change horse crap that everyone seems obligated to work in somewhere.
Scott Brick was awesome, as usual.

Best in series so far!

I have to admit, I was excited for the first book just because I'm a big fan of Amir's prophecy material, but I wasn't that impressed with it. I bought the 2nd in the series really just because I wanted to support Amir in his work, but based on the first book, wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised as it seemed much better, enough so that I willingly bought this third book. This book blew me away! It is SO much better than the first two. Amir has REALLY upped his game. The story line and writing are top notch. I'd put him up there with any of the best action/ suspense authors. Now I can't wait for the 4th novel to come out. The fact that Amir wrote this BEFORE the Hamas massacre on 10/7/23 just shows how in-tune Amir is with the Holy Spirit and scripture.

This is, without a doubt, the best book I've listened to in a long, long time! I had never heard of Barry Meguiar until watching a Jack Hibbs "Happening Now" interview with him. His enthusiasm was infectious, so I had to see what the book was all about.
It is SO good, that I finished it within a week and have listened to multiple chapters more than once. I'm about to go through it a second time, and I've recommended it to several other people. I'm going to suggest to our small group that we go through it together.
Barry is so encouraging and makes things so simple. I've already started trying to "move others one step closer to Jesus."
Thank you, Barry, for such an amazing book. If we never meet on this side of eternity, I look forward to meeting you on the other.

One small handwritten letter, sent from a dark, remote corner of the planet and lost in the system for 60 years, is about to change the entire human race. Outside Denver, Colorado, Joe Rickards stands over a small aircraft wreckage, studying burnt remains still smoldering in a field of freshly fallen snow. He's an investigator for the NTSB, working to carefully roll back the last several hours and identify the cause of the accident. But this time, he can't.

Great story and well read. Not as exciting as a Clive Cussler novel, but more realistic. The ending is a bit cheesy (kind of like a mix between the first and final Raiders of the Last Ark movies). Would definitely recommend, though, and will probably listen to it again in a year or two just for fun. Scott Brick's narration is, as usual, amazing.

This is the 2nd book in the series, and in my opinion, MUCH better than the first. The first book seemed to skip around too much, making it difficult to stay engaged and interested in. This one is much different, and Amir's writing and scripting have improved. I really wasn't planning to listen to this one after the first novel, but thankfully my wife picked it out for a road trip we went on. So glad she did! I now look forward to the next one in the series!
