Great if you like historical fiction not fact
Reviewed: 08-30-18
The gentleman who has done this lecture weaves a great tale. However his bias shows in almost every single chapter. Some chapters are so bad that even the most surface level of historical or theological knowledge would show that he is telling a biased story in the guise of a historical lecture. His slander against some groups is amazing and the shallowness of his interpretations is almost painful.
That being said, he weaves a good story. If you are interested in being entertained and not educated and able to take this as such. It is a great work of historical fiction. If you expect to actually learn history in any substantial or correct fashion, I highly recommend choosing a different audio book.

Barron does a wonderful job for the first half of the book laying a foundation both historical and scriptural for catholic thought. Then he proceeds to bring in modern saint and philosophers to build on that case. Demonstrating for all to see the glory of the great cathedral of the holy church of Christ.

But I slogged through because the insights in this book are worth it even if the reader is bad.

In How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Adams shares the strategy he has used since he was a teen to invite failure in, to embrace it, then pick its pocket.

Amazing and straightforward.

Scott Adams has a way with seeing the world and cutting through the bs. He knows that any self improvement tool cannot rely on just will power and that luck has a big part in success. This book doesn't mince words nor does it rely on oogedy boogedy magic. He explains in clear terms how he got to where he was and the tools and tricks he used along the way.
I don't know if I'll absorb it all but this is the rare book I felt was worth a second read in order to absorb all of the lessons.
