Story
Teachers show up in different forms and in many chapters of a child’s life. Teaching is literacy and numeracy, but most importantly, it’s showing up with your whole heart. It’s walking kids - and yourself - through the hardest conversations about trauma, loss, grief, racism, or violence. As we work to piece together our education system in the fallout from the global pandemic, the focus must be on the teachers. If the people in charge - those teachers - aren’t OK, the students don’t stand a chance.

Adult language
Reviewed: 08-30-24
I listen to the first chapter and partway into the second. I think I would’ve really liked the book, but there was too much adult language. The language in the book if it were a movie would’ve got it a rated R rating. Just in the first chapter and part of the second alone, I think there were 4F bombs. as an educator, we don’t use that kind of language language and to me it’s offensive so even though the messages might be good. The language was a major turn off, so I’m not going to finish the book.

Story
A hilarious new middle grade novel from beloved and best-selling author Gordon Korman about what happens when the worst class of kids in school is paired with the worst teacher. The Unteachables never thought they’d find a teacher who had a worse attitude than they did. And Mr. Kermit never thought he would actually care about teaching again. Over the course of a school year, though, room 117 will experience mayhem, destruction - and maybe even a shot at redemption.

a cool twist

I love all the surprises that make sense later on in the story these loose ends that you don't even notice tie together so well. it's a fantastic book I'd recommend it to anyone super clean not even swearing in it. loved it can't say more about it. no immorality or anything like that.

Story
Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

smutty
Reviewed: 04-21-21
I really think the performance was good I like the reader. there was just a lot of unnecessary smut, to the point where I couldn't finish it. I just didn't like reading and knowing that I was going to have to suffer through auditory pornography. there should be some kind of content warning associated with books so you know if you're getting into something that's going to have pornographic material in it.
