Story
Three top secret research scientists are presumed dead in a boating accident, but the kidnapping of their families the same day raises questions the FBI and local police can't answer, leaving them waiting for a ransom demand that will never come. Central Intelligence Agency analyst Chris Leroux stumbles upon the story, and finds a phone conversation that was never supposed to happen. When he reports it to his boss, the national clandestine services chief, he is uncharacteristically reprimanded for conducting an unauthorized investigation and told to leave it to the FBI.

I have a audible library of 600+titles and finished 98% of them. By chance this is the first book I have read by this author and I rate it in the top 5 ever for overall entertainment and the presentation was excellent. i rarely rate books because I am hearing impaired and my view of a book is often skewed by tone and clarity of the presenter but this book, author and presenter has everything

I have over 500 audible books in my library and rarely submit reviews . However this book is what I hope to find in every book I listen to. It is well written, entertaining and interesting though out. Also it is very well presented. I am hearing impaired and in many books I miss a lot when the presentation uses different vocal tones and levels to make a point, not this book.

Story
The body in the arroyo belonged to a man who’d made his living plundering ancient Indian sites. And the only witness to the crime would not change his story: a demon had killed his friend. Sheriff Cliff Lansing has an unexplained death on his hands, and it’s only the beginning. In Las Palmas, New Mexico, a US senator is on his way to meet a Zuni shaman who is holding up a land swap involving 150,000 acres in New Mexico and Arizona. The senator intends to push the deal through. But in a long, dark night on the high desert, he is led into a storm of violence and shame.

Story
Rodeo Grace Garnet lives alone, save for his old dog, in a remote corner of Arizona known to locals as the Hole. He doesn't get many visitors, but a body found near his home has drawn police attention to his front door. The victim is not one of the many illegal immigrants who risk their lives to cross the border just south of the Hole, but is instead a member of one of the local Indian tribes.
