Story
When Emily Lane isn’t busy running her charming Christmas-themed store, “Under the Mistletoe”, located in the quaint tourist town of Fletcher’s Grove, she finds herself compelled to investigate not so quaint local murders. On the surface, Emily is a perfectly lovely, good-natured puzzle-solver and mystery lover. But she is hiding a secret past from everyone in town. And when Emily begins her personal investigations, Detective-Constable Sam Wilner, a smart and attractive cop—with a crush on Emily that is not completely unrequited—begins to wonder if there’s more to Emily than meets the eye.

Story
Thriller scribe Sophie Katz is as hard-boiled as a woman who drinks Grande Caramel Brownie Frappuccionos can be. So Sophie knows it's not paranoia, or post-divorce, living-alone-again jitters, when she becomes convinced that a crazed reader is sneaking into her apartment to reenact scenes from her books. The police, however, can't tell a good plot from an unmarked grave.

interesting characters and and good processing

narrator: I found the narrator easy to listen to and I didn't manipulate the speed because I enjoyed her cadence also her dialects between characters was very distinctive
story: I really like the murder mystery I am more of a murder she wrote than a CSI so it did get a bit gruesome for me I liked following the clues and when the ending presented itself I did wonder where I didn't pick up the clues that led to the killer which which could either reflect either good storytelling or too many red herrings in this particular case I follow the logic of the characters themselves and I truly enjoyed it.

not much of a mystery but compelling world
Reviewed: 01-27-20
I am use to the Hallmark mystery styles of cozy mysteries and make re confident characters. I still found the characters easy to relate to and the world itself interesting. If it were a book I probably wouldn't have finished it or skipped passages. I did want to know the ending but didn't like the process of figuring out who done it. It felt more like a romantic procedural instead of a mystery. It really didn't have much for clues or puzzle silvering so much as evidence solving the case.
Character drama was cute and character development/relationship development was slub plot but felt much more of what the story was about. it was organic and the pov of the main character I felt was very realistic.
overall impression... good for background when working or good bedtime story listening.

My first cozy mystery and I liked it.

I found the narration soothing and the plot and clues easy to follow. I'm a very visual person, but I didn't have to difficult of a time keeping characters straight.
