Story
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

This book worked over my emotions. I cried, got mad, and lived through the time. I was a teenage bride, and a teenage widow. I hated the war for taking away the love of my life. I protested, but never spit on anyone or called a vet a baby killer. I also wore a MIA bracelet, but years later was able to send it to his family. When I married again, I married a vet. I watched his struggles as I watched returning friends struggle. The book took lots of research and my husband loved the book as much as I did. Thank you for the book and reminding us, FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!

It has been almost a decade since Duluth said good-bye to its innocence. The city creeps ever closer to the 10th anniversary of the year in which it found itself both gripped by murder and united in terror and during which the pillar of its community, DS Jonathan Stride, had his home and heart torn to ribbons by the claws of cancer. Cat Mateo, an orphan with a knack for landing on her feet, has bid farewell to a life on the streets. This once-stray teenager owes her rescue to Detective Stride, the father figure she holds close to her heart.

I got hooked on these after listening to the first book. Being married to a man from Minnesota and visiting so much, I love hearing about it. I laugh when the accent is done. Sounds like me a Texan when I speak Norwegian with my husband.
