Story
Here are the great minds of Western civilization and their pivotal ideas, from Plato to Hegel, from Augustine to Nietzsche, from Copernicus to Freud. Richard Tarnas performs the near-miracle of describing profound philosophical concepts simply but without simplifying them. Ten years in the making and already hailed as a classic, The Passion of the Western Mind is truly a complete liberal education in a single volume.

I have listened to this book so many times. This reader did well.. and my favorite is a woman who reads this on YouTube as she is a woman and this author is a woman.. and she just has a voice that I can picture in my minds eye to resemble that of miss shinn.. regardless it’s an amazing book filled with gems of wisdom and conviction.

Vital knowledge discovered long after being destroyed

Sadly I feel so badly I knew this before so much(all) of what fueled my bright light I’m this world, was snuffed out. I feel like the shell of who I was and I’m glad to put understanding but it is still hind sight which feels like being truly defeated it’s like loosing at t he game if life and relationships and putting your all in just to find out you lost everything and the entire experience was rigged against you and you never had a chance. The of the books by this author have been quite the rude awakening yet if your honest with yourself .. can be quite a deeply saddening realization of how you e been played.

Wow
I’m blown away. This book is incredible. So thorough, so insightful. Thank you so much for the depth of knowledge and the easy to grasp style of presenting such a complex multi layered concepts that can be hard to fully understand. The building sequence for really understanding the concepts are clear and understandable. Humorous, brilliant, masterpiece I’d recommend to anyone building knowledge to actually understanding the horoscope essence. Super impressed
