They did a great job performing their relationship journey. Great topics that everyone could benefit from practicing in their relationships.

It jumped around. There were to many people and storylines to follow. I think you would need to put it all down on a chart to keep up with how everyone is connected. Also it was just not interesting or entertaining.

Seventeen-year-old Alice and her mother have spent most of Alice’s life on the road, always a step ahead of the uncanny bad luck biting at their heels. But when Alice’s grandmother, the reclusive author of a cult-classic book of pitch-dark fairy tales, dies alone on her estate, the Hazel Wood, Alice learns how bad her luck can really get: Her mother is stolen away - by a figure who claims to come from the Hinterland, the cruel supernatural world where her grandmother's stories are set. Alice's only lead is the message her mother left behind: "Stay away from the Hazel Wood."

We read this for book club. Had me from the beginning. Fresh take on a fairytale. Great storyline and loved the characters. Only criticism would be the F word was used way to often.

Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Good not great

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, the author bounces around to much for me. One book doesn't flow into the other. She needs to work on transition.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Again I hate her transition from one book to another and I dont like the jump from one characters storyline to the other.
Which character – as performed by Natalie Moore – was your favorite?
Idk, but she did a good job.
