Story
When a teen falls while taking a selfie at the edge of a cliff, the last thing she sees before plummeting to her death is Katie Harmon, the nine-year-old girl she was babysitting, looking down at her. Investigators gather at the scene, and Katie’s mother, Sara, rushes to comfort her daughter. Yet there’s a small, secret ping of alarm in Sara’s heart that she cannot share—though rookie detective Kim Pierce senses it. For years, others have tried to unravel this secret. Now, Sara is consumed by her darkest fear—that the babysitter’s death was not an accident.

I liked the story. But the vocabulary was weak. high school level.

The reader was horrible. Her tone and infection was so far off on so many levels. she sounded like high-school girl. Talking about crime and death with a happy upbeat tone ruined the characters.

Fantastic Strong characters

I loved everything about this story. the characters. the well thought out story line of a song determined woman living in difficult times. The quite determined way Lady Eugraine helped and support Morgan. I was sad when the story ended. But so proud of Morgan. This story has everything Romance, A mother's love, magic, thills and so many reasons of strength. It is written with such detail I felt like was living in the story with the Characters.

Story
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the very end. The readers had beautiful voices and reading skills. The story was engaging, believable, relatable on so many levels to grandparents, parents, and anyone involved with family and children. It had shocking parts, parts that made me angry, cry and parts that brought me joy.

The mystery was fine. I enjoyed all the complexity of the store and the well developed Character descriptions. They were very likeable for sure. I didn't appreciate the stereo typing of middle/ working class men being hot-headed and the young girls being boy crazy at 12 years old! Portraying the mother as a cheating spouse. A a physical therapist like Jill is far from being a high-class high-profile job or Cole as an ex cop and private investigator as a highly successful person hardly believable. Maybe his book but still. I just wish the ending would have been more realistic. totally fell flat at the end. The narrator had a lot to be desired too especially the way he portrayed the children and the women. It could have been a good book if more time would have been spent picking the villan in the end and not dumb downed the female characters.

Story
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

I did not enjoy this story. The idea was good yes, but it was poorly thought out. It is unbelievable. The character s are unlikable and I spent most of the book wishing John would go first. I was happy when Charlie and doctor Keller finally died . it's funny how they ran out of food but not bullets and guns or cigarettes. Frankly irs ridiculous that each small town would only care about themselves. That no one could rally the whole state or region s to come together. There are millions of warehouses across this country and millions of people with old cars and trucks who could move goods around. No way we couldn't or wouldn't come together to help each other survive. It really was a narrow minded story.

I liked the story, but does seem like it is written for a male audiences. too much sex too much time spent describing the looks of the female bodies! I started skipping over as in added nothing to the story. And describing people in their 30s and 40s as old and older is just wrong.

I liked this story. I struggled to keep listening as it was very long and I had to listen is several sessions. the plot twist at the end was surprising. The characters where likable and hate able too. I didn't enjoy the male narrator trying to do female voices that was hard to take at times. The ending was flat and disappointing. it wasn't right. and not believable to me.
