It is unfortunate performers have changed.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes,new performer and all. The story is a good one
What did you like best about this story?
The way some of the characters return to assist, help and clear up certain confused
individuals and subjects. And the fact that it isn't one group in conflict. It has wars, betrayal and assassinations and mystery. Wonder if and when the Adjunt will find out she killed her sister!
Would you listen to another book narrated by Michael Page?
Yes. I've listened tho his performance before, It's just changing in stride like that, causes a break, and listeners have to adjust, Get over It! I did, was't easy, but did. Because the story is a good one.And so far the series.
Any additional comments?
Short of returning to Mr.Ralph Lister,no.Mr. Michael Page is a fine performer. His characters
sounds different because he's different. Give it time

Story
The Charisian Empire, born in war, has always known it must fight for its very survival. What most of its subjects don’t know even now, however, is how much more it’s fighting for. Emperor Cayleb, Empress Sharleyan, Merlin Athrawes, and their innermost circle of most trusted advisers do know. And because they do, they know the penalty if they lose will be far worse than their own deaths and the destruction of all they know and love.
