Story
When 17-year-old Lila Black goes to the LA-based Cupids Matchmaking Service, it is to tell them to stop spamming her. Instead she finds out that cupids are real, she has been identified as the match of the banished, dangerous (and irresistibly attractive) Cupid himself, and that due to an administrative error he will be arriving at her high school tomorrow. The organization assigns one of their matchmaking agents, Cal, to hide her from him, but despite his efforts she finds herself increasingly drawn to her match.

Stick w/ Angela. Cliffhangers are AWESOME!
Reviewed: 02-10-19
In book 1 it was hard for me to like Angela at first, because she over pronounced words. After hearing book 2 and Zachary narration I think they should just stick with one narrator and that should be Angela. Zachary is good, but to dry for Reed's character. Zachary is not very good at doing female voices and completely skips over the southern accents all together.
The story is very engaging and I find myself purchasing the next book right after the last. It has been a while since I have had a book that has kept my attention. And for once, the female characters isn't helpless.

Having two people narrating is OK, but 8 is way to much. their performance levels are all over the map and one guy pronounced the drug completely different from the others. Now, I'm left with the question as to how it is supposed to be pronounced.
The book is awesome, love the world building and it feels very similar to Brandon Sanderson or Pierce Brown.

Story
In this stunning debut, legends collide with reality when a boy is swept into the magical, dangerous world of a girl filled with poison. Everyone knows the legends about the cursed girl - Isabel, the one the senoras whisper about. They say she has green skin and grass for hair, and she feeds on the poisonous plants that fill her family's Caribbean island garden. Some say she can grant wishes; some say her touch can kill.

Mystery and Love??
Reviewed: 07-25-16
If you could sum up A Fierce and Subtle Poison in three words, what would they be?
Love, Mystery, and a bit of Mayhem.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the fantasy twist on the mystery genre.
Have you listened to any of Graham Hamilton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to any other performances from Graham. I find his voice soothing, but it almost put me to sleep a few times. I found his performances to be very good, however.
Any additional comments?
This is Mabry's fist book, but she does have a few short stories. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Mabry. She was the type of author we readers love. When a reader can connect an author's personality to their writing it makes their experience much more satisfying. Several times throughout her book I could picture Mabry writing the scene laid out before me and a smile would sneak across my face. If you live in or near the Austin area I suggest meeting the author at the 2016 Texas Teen Book Festival in Oct.

Story
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway - a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors.

Where does The Night Circus rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Much like the Circus itself this story expanse gracefully, gets a little crazy in the middle and ends abruptly leaving you with a mist of awe. It reminds me of Stardust and the Illusionist mixed into one. Keeping up with all the characters gets a bit confusing in the middle, but this is a must read. The vocab is wonderful and the story line is one of the best I have read in a longtime.

Story
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of Underland, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers - precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

Awesome retelling!
Reviewed: 06-20-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, great YA book. I have the series in print and audible. I love that it's a slightly morbid, but beautiful retelling. The vocabulary is simple (- .5 from story score), making this an easy read. Pay attention to the many connections to Lewis Carroll's version and the connections to other retelling.
Her voice was perfect for Alyssa, but not so much for Morpheus or Jeb. The male voices sound closer to Jennifer Lawrence's voice(- .5 from the overall score); however, Gibel's performance for each character more than makes up for it. I will defiantly listen to her again.
