Story
When Mouse’s dad asks her to clean out her dead grandmother's house, she says yes. After all, how bad could it be? Answer: pretty bad. Grandma was a hoarder, and her house is stuffed with useless rubbish. That would be horrific enough, but there’s more - Mouse stumbles across her step-grandfather’s journal, which at first seems to be filled with nonsensical rants...until Mouse encounters some of the terrifying things he described for herself.

Thoughtful build to a chilling, exhilarating finale. Also, the dog lives.

Not good.

flat, boring writing. huge gaps between character developement, motivation and actions - didn't make sense. I honestly feel that my 13 year old niece could flesh out adult characters better than the author, who seemed clues about human nature and character motivation. A ton of dialog that has no place in furthering the plot or fleshing out the characters. Antagonist was super vague and, like the book, was built in a meandering, sloppy manner that just didn't come together. Funny parts weren't funny. Lazy writing. Oh, almost forgot - barely any horror. Book was trash.

Good exorcism story, cheezy narration.

great characters, great writing, but I found myself wanting to kick the narrator in her throat, because of her Mickey Mouse Club, childish, overexuberant narration. Everytime she did a mans voice I found my toes curling.
