Story
Golda Meir was a world figure unlike any other. Born in tsarist Russia in 1898, she immigrated to America in 1906 and grew up in Milwaukee, where from her earliest years she displayed the political consciousness and organizational skills that would eventually catapult her into the inner circles of Israel's founding generation. Moving to mandatory Palestine in 1921 with her husband, the passionate socialist joined a kibbutz but soon left and was hired at a public works office by the man who would become the great love of her life.

Good book. Needs a new narrator

Very good portrait of a great woman, with good use of archival material covering some of crucial moments in Golda’s career and Israel’s existence. However, the narration often drive move crazy with one mispronunciation after another of Hebrew, Yiddish and even English names and words. It was like a continual chalkboard scratch.

Story
Tom Wolfe - one of the 20th century’s foremost voices in cultural criticism - went from local news reporter to international icon in 1968, with the publication of The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. Now voiced with vivacity and vigor by Audible Hall of Fame narrator Luke Daniels, the non-fiction swan-dive delves into the world of hippies, hedonism, and everything in between.

Good, but dated

Great writing, but it now seems a little dated. I got tired of the same aimless antics of these acid heads.

Story
Millions of words have poured forth about man's trip to the moon, but until now few people have had a sense of the most engrossing side of the adventure: namely, what went on in the minds of the astronauts themselves - in space, on the moon, and even during certain odysseys on earth. It is this, the inner life of the astronauts, that Tom Wolfe describes with his almost uncanny empathetic powers that made The Right Stuff a classic.

Great Stuff

One of my favorite listens of all time. The writing is incomparable, especially the author’s ability to get into the heads of the pilots and astronauts. And the narration was super enlivened and fun.

Story
The Counterlife is about people enacting their dreams of renewal and escape, some of them going so far as to risk their lives to alter seemingly irreversible destinies. Wherever they may find themselves, the characters of The Counterlife are tempted unceasingly by the prospect of an alternative existence that can reverse their fate. Illuminating these lives in transition and guiding us through the book's evocative landscapes, familiar and foreign, is the mind of the novelist Nathan Zuckerman.

Intricately, ingeniously constructed plot with interesting characters, outrageous and hilarious the story was situations, and struggle for inner truths. And identity and meaningful relationships.
