Story
At first, Linda Bergstrom's marriage to her husband James was idyllic. They were young and in love; he was about to enter the Navy and she was eager to start a family. But it wasn't long before the dream exploded. James became abusive and violent, prone to sudden bursts of anger, long silences, and unexplained disappearances. But Linda vowed to hold on, despite the pain and fear...and her disturbing suspicions about her husband's secret life.

Buyer Beware!
Reviewed: 04-28-13
I bought this book hoping it would be interesting. The narrator did a decent job. I returned this book because of the multiple references to child sexual abuse. (I got to about chapter 4.) Although the mention of the abuse was not overly graphic, it was certainly disturbing. I wish I would have known this fact before I bought this book. I am writing this review to warn other readers.

Story
You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits. There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it's windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He's the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He's pretty much irresistible.

I had a great time listening to this story. I could not get enough! The story was great. I agree with another reviewer that it is frustrating that the chapters run one into the other. It is frustrating to not have a pause to know that one scene ends, since the narrator runs one chapter into the other. I took away a star in the performance for that,

Story
Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

I have more than one hundred books in my audio library. I would say that I am an avid listener of audio books. Saving Ceecee Honeycutt is one book I can listen to at any time. Jenna Lamia has some created some great characters with her performance. The story is great, once you get beyond the depressing first few chapters. Stick with it, you won't be sorry! :) Ceecee and her world make a great escape.
