Beautifully written and very well narrated

This story is gripping. It is heartbreaking and emotional. But at the same time it’s uplifting and very satisfying. The characters are very real, and you feel their joy as well as their pain.

Story
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

This is a heartfelt story that made me laugh right out loud. Besides being funny it is sad, poignant, timely and timeless. I would have loved to meet Ove.

Story
Why we think it’s a great listen: There’s no gentle way to put this – Frank McCourt’s performance of Angela’s Ashes is just better than the Pulitzer Prize-winning book. Frank McCourt shares his sometimes heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking story of growing up poor, Irish, and Catholic in the Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela's Ashes.

The Irish life
Reviewed: 07-15-16
This book is about the life of its author Frank McCourt in the life he lived starting in America and ends up on his way back to Ireland limerick. Frank McCourt tells us what his life was like doing the famine in Ireland and a part of the depression of New York America I would definitely say that this book is definitely a great read for anyone descended to an Irish immigrant.
