Story
Renée Ballard and the LAPD’s Open-Unsolved Unit get a hot shot DNA connection between a recently arrested man and a serial rapist and murderer who went quiet twenty years ago. The arrested man is only twenty-four, so the genetic link must be familial: His father was the Pillowcase Rapist, responsible for a five-year reign of terror in the city of angels. But when Ballard and her team move in on their suspect, they encounter a baffling web of secrets and legal hurdles. Meanwhile, Ballard’s badge, gun, and ID are stolen.

It’s excellent, as always. I had a hard time putting it down. It has Ballard, Bosch and Bosch. I would’ve liked more Harry, but I like Maddie and she’s growing into the qualities we love about Harry.

I’m disappointed that it appears to be the end of the series. I love this character and was looking forward to more books about him. I’m not sure why you’d end a great series after only six books.

Not a mystery and it’s a surprise Christian book

I was blindsided by all of the praying, and trying to get people to pray and go to church. It took away from the story and didn’t feel natural in the context. I understand there are people who don’t want to hear/see swearing, but I don’t understand the need for all the praying. The story would have been fine enough for anyone without it. Also, the narrator had one “female voice” and one “male voice”, so sometimes it was hard to know which character was speaking.
