Story
On the continent of Tiandi, humans lived amongst beasts, demons, and spirits. Here, warriors were as common as the clouds in the sky, and each expert could either cultivate their inner energy known as Qi, or their soul, to form Spiritual Energy. In the village of Jinwei, Luo Xiao grew up like a beautiful bird locked in a cage. He was weak from birth and unable to leave his bed for an extended period of time, yet his beauty made him well-liked amongst the villagers.

From fear to trust to Love

At first I felt I could not follow, but the story was amazing. And I love how kind yet assertive Xiao is.
The story reminds me of Beauty and the Beast but oh so very different.
But I also like how the author has Xiao come to understand some of the feelings he discovers as he travels and how though weak he refused to let others push him around.

My God please tell me theres more audio formats to this series.
I loved this one more than HEROES FOR GHOSTS.
I hope with everything I am that the rest get an audio.
I loved Lori and John. I loved how sweet and innocent the gruff bear was towards his Little Red Fox.
I was super jealous of their relationship.
I loved all of it.
Definitely gonna listen again.

Story
August 1939. Roger Miller and Jack O’Brien have been close since childhood. By the time they realize there’s more between them than friendship, Jack is leaving their sleepy Iowa town for college. But they console themselves knowing he’ll be home for Christmas. Right? It is Christmas before they see each other again, but that Christmas comes six years and a world war later. Aged, beaten, and shaken by combat, they’re not the boys they were back then, but their feelings for each other are stronger than ever.

Felt a bit... Rushed.
Reviewed: 04-30-21
When I listen to audio books, I like how the narrator gives pause here and there. But with this one... it all felt rushed. Like... well, first off, while was the same song and dance (a forbidden love between 2 men, a love denied by society) it felt rushed, unimportant. Short.
Maybe it'd be different if one read it, but when listening... I just couldn't get into it like I did with others.
I'm afraid I won't be listening to this one again.

Beautiful. Wow

It was as Cole said. I could almost see it.
I honestly would prefer to avoid hospitals unless injured or in pain, not to... let's just say I've had my fill. And I'd rather remember that person before they were destroyed by whatever felled them.
Does that make me heartless? Maybe...
But I don't want my last memory, my last sight of a loved one, to be them in a strange bed with machines recording their last.
Anyway, I loved the book. I loved the performance and Joel did a wonderful job.
Can't wait for the Cellist.

"En route to polite exile in the Galapagos Islands (field work, to quote the dean of my university), I have found myself marooned on a deserted tropical paradise. Deserted, that is, except for my savior, a mysterious American called Marcus. He is an inventor and the proof of his greatness is the marvelous new clockwork arm he has created to replace the unsightly one that was ruined in my shipboard mishap."

Where does Rex's Mate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I don't know. Top 5...
What did you like best about this story?
All of it, save for the slaps, but besides that- God damned HOT.
I LOVED IT ALL!!
I'm so reading this again.
Call me crazy but I love this book like mad.
Way to go Morgan and Burns. OW!
Have you listened to any of TG Burns’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Nope. He's gruff and gives the characters life without being too much of a hot shot tough guy.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I feel like I drank coffee and can't settle because it's so good.
Any additional comments?
