Annoying protagonist and excessively verbose story

I do not understand the glowing reviews. I found the protagonist's unendingly whiny self talk over the top and grating. That was compounded by the excessive and redundant wordiness of the entire story. The plot was not complex and the reveals were easy to guess. The excessive explanation of everything just made it boring. I only made it to the end by listening at double speed while doing chores. I want my credit back :(

A dark and emotional action thriller that turns out to be a masterful satirical take on the world we live in.

Great narration of a touching family story with interesting twists and turns makes for an enjoyable experience. The plot hinges on a fun but whimsical aquatic connection. You'll smile, laugh, cry and cherish new friends, including those with 8 arms :)

A good and enjoyable story well told, that really says it all. If you liked the first book you'll like this one. If you haven't read or listened to the first one I recommend you do so. The second book doesn't require the first but does reveal some details that would diminish enjoying the first story.

An adventure story that kept my attention with quick pacing, interesting and relatable characters both human and non-human, excellent narration, a mostly plausible not too distant future and multiple interwoven story lines all tied tight enough for a satisfying conclusion that also leaves room for more. I really enjoyed Level 5.

Convolution is a fun near future crime drama requiring a normal amount of disbelief that's made easy to accept by a quick moving story, high production values and cut into 10 podcast like segments.

This book is dense with a primary character who is brilliant and verbose. The web of intrigue gets very interesting as the story develops.
