Story
It is commonly thought in secular society that the Bible is one of the greatest hindrances to doing justice. Isn't it full of regressive views? Didn't it condone slavery? Why look to the Bible for guidance on how to have a more just society? But Timothy Keller sees it another way. In Generous Justice, Keller explores a life of justice empowered by an experience of grace: a generous, gracious justice. Here is a book for believers who find the Bible a trustworthy guide as well as those who suspect that Christianity is a regressive influence in the world.

Important book on important concepts
Reviewed: 01-04-23
Nancy Pearcy explores the implications of believing that our bodies are not important, only what our minds think. In the culture at large today, the body has been relegated to a meaningless dimension of ourselves. Pearce gives a thoughtful and well researched exploration of the implications of demeaning the body as separate from our personhood. She also offers Christians a better understanding of a loving approach to sharing the biblical view of the body.

There has been plague in the area, but this was not the cause of death: The lad has been stabbed in the back. To Hugh’s sinking heart, the abbot has a commission for him....

I really enjoy hearing the tales of Hugh de Singleton, bailiff and surgeon, in medieval times. It’s so interesting that he has a connection to John Wycliffe. The historical details of the series are so well done.
