In context of 10 years ago when written, it would still be dull and reflective more of the author's acknowledging her relationships with the 1% while trying to maintain she was not one of them.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Sure would. It was a great spin having a female protagonist learn from and work with Sherlock, and weaving characters from Conan Doyle's books into the story. Maintains the original storyteller's sentiment of Victorian/Post-Victorian times yet allowing it to evolve under King's narrative.
