Story
Brent Weyland was the life of the party until an injury ended his hockey career. Now he's retreated alone to a lakefront house, trying to make sense of a life and body that doesn't feel like his anymore. Jon Norquist was happily married right up until he wasn't. Now a single father in his 40s, he's trying to figure out what comes next. In the meantime, he pours his heartache and regret into the lyrics he sings for the wine bar crowd a couple of nights a week. When a friend coaxes Brent out for a night of wine and music, he puts Brent and Jon on a collision course.

Couldn’t get invested in the characters
Reviewed: 06-11-24
One of the characters seemed kind of whiny, and the other was narrated so softly I could barely hear them. Besides which I didn’t care for the narrators style.

Great escapist romance
Reviewed: 02-20-23
This was a well-written and nicely narrated gay romance in the grand tradition of the bodice ripper. I really enjoyed it.

This book has changed the way I parent. I have realized I don’t have to be my child’s adversary. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Great story, rough narration
Reviewed: 06-04-20
I love this series. I have read it before and thought it would be a great listen too, but the narrator unfortunately keeps mispronouncing local place names and words (I am a PNW native). This takes me out of the story every time while I try to piece together what he is talking about. Do your research!
