Story
A year has passed since LAPD detective Renée Ballard quit the force in the face of misogyny, demoralization, and endless red tape. But after the chief of police himself tells her she can write her own ticket within the department, Ballard takes back her badge, leaving “the Late Show” to rebuild and lead the cold case unit at the elite Robbery-Homicide Division.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

It took a moment but soon I was enjoying this telling. Everyone has the right to tell their stories as they’ve lived it. “Spare is Human and Brave”… People that stay silent are jailed and unfortunately in a prison of fear and reluctance of their own. Diana continues to live through her youngest child. Your dedication and love for your work in charities like HIV is more of a legacy than a mere royal title.

Story
The discovery of a dead infant in an Amish barn shakes Lancaster County to its core. But the police investigation leads to a more shocking disclosure: Circumstantial evidence suggests that 18-year-old Katie Fisher, an unmarried Amish woman believed to be the newborn's mother, took the child's life. When Ellie Hathaway, a disillusioned big-city attorney, comes to Paradise, Pennsylvania, to defend Katie, two cultures collide - and for the first time in her high-profile career, Ellie faces a system of justice very different from her own.

Ughh Katie. I’ve read a lot of books with Amish characters specifically females. Yes they can be shy and naïve about their outside world yet they retain a strength of their own. Katie’s portrayal is in short annoying. I loved Ellie and all of the other characters involved in the story. The plot and story lions are superb. The narration was great. It’s just Katie. Everything about her personality her reasoning somehow bothered me. I kept rolling my eyes. Sadly this made my experience with the book less enjoyable

I love this character. For me, he made this book. A complicated, loving, troubled, sensitive special needs human being. Ben had brain damage due to an accident. However, a lot of his behaviors seemed so similar to those of my son who has autism. It’s wonderful to read about characters such as these and their families. Bravo 👏🏼

Story
The reign of King John means dark days for all of England. Not one man, woman, or child lived without fear. Magnifying this fear is the man they call The Lord of the Shadows - a terrifying figure who sits at the right hand of the King, manipulating the royal moves like a puppet master. The Lord of the Shadows has been known to tear men apart with his bare hands and can, with a snap of his fingers, alter the future of anyone he chooses.
