Story
Over two grim nights in Los Angeles, the young followers of Charles Manson murdered seven people, including the actress Sharon Tate, then eight months pregnant. With no mercy and seemingly no motive, the Manson Family followed their leader's every order. Twenty years ago, when journalist Tom O'Neill was reporting a magazine piece about the murders, he worried there was nothing new to say. Then he unearthed shocking evidence of a cover-up behind the "official" story, including police carelessness, legal misconduct, and potential surveillance by intelligence agents.

This book has a lot of good info that will reframe a lot of what you know about Charles Manson. Where there is smoke there is fire, and there is tons of smoke here. Good performance as well.

Story
While the success of Disneyland is largely credited to Walt and Roy Disney, there was a third, mostly forgotten dynamo instrumental to the development of the park: fast-talking Texan C. V. Wood. Three Years in Wonderland presents the never-before-told, full story of "the happiest place on earth".

Great background on Disneyland's creation

I loved the information presented here, as it gives a fairly deep insight into the process of building Disneyland. If you are into Disney, you'll likely enjoy this focused look at that time. HOWEVER, the narrator's overly professional tone really hindered my enjoyment. I can't really explain specifically what is off about the delivery other than to say the pronunciation is too professional and each sentence sounds as though it was read individually. Think Phil Hartman's professional announcer voice, and you'll get an idea of what the narration is like here.

Story
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Think of this as a podcast. If released as such, it would be at the top of the charts. It's amazing, interviews with the actual people involved and the story of the case is laid out in a rapid pace. I only hope that this gets the attention it deserves. If you are on the fence, jump off and get it, you won't regret it!
