Story
A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

Story
It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable. Yet Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge. Now, stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's 60 years old.

As a Christian, it's sometimes difficult to find great reads (or listens) in this old world. I'm so thankful to have stumbled upon the Mitford Series💖
From The Father who is constantly finding himself involved in all kinds of situations that heed his profession of preaching the gospel without even uttering a Word from the Good book.. but in actions and deeds be leads this little town towards the light of Christ. It's been so refreshing to finally find something that resembles a Mayberry-type town that brings back long ago memories of life the way it once was. Oh that we could learn from this story.. how to treat thy neighbor, how to be kind to a little boy who's own mother has walked away, only for him to find the love he truly needs.. from the Father. Father Tim, The Rector, and a cozy place where there's mystery and intrigue from the beginning to the end.
You can't help but want to travel back in time to a simpler life, where the characters bring you "home" to a safe place where love conquers all... to a big ole dog whose love opens many doors along the paths of this picturesque place called Mitford.
I've loaded 3 more books in this series onto my Library.. I paint watercolors while I listen.. and it makes my life seem more carefree.
Kudos to the Author and to the Narrator. You've given me a sense of well being while I cook, clean, and paint. To the Readers.. I pray that it changes your heart as you listen to a time less traveled in 2024. Blessings to you all.. no spoiler alerts here!!! teehee 😃

Story
The most popular and beloved American historical novel ever written, Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind is unparalleled in its portrayal of men and women at once larger than life but as real as ourselves. Now best-selling writer Alexandra Ripley brings us back to Tara and reintroduces us to the characters we remember so well: Rhett, Ashley, Mammy, Suellen, Aunt Pittypat, and, of course, Scarlett.
