Story
"Unvarnished. Funny. Leaving no stone unturned"...So say the publishers about this audiobook I've written. What I say is that this is the story of my life, told as clear as a Texas sky and in the same rhythm that I lived it. It's a story of restlessness and the purity of the moment and living right. Of my childhood in Abbott, Texas, to the Pacific Northwest, from Nashville to Hawaii, and all the way back again. Of selling vacuum cleaners and encyclopedias while hosting radio shows and writing song after song, hoping to strike gold.

I very much enjoyed the book. What a character of a guy that loves his family....blood and extended. And I love his music. Such a talented man that stumbled though the beginning of his life but found his way. Bravo.

Story
Just as I Am is my truth. It is me, plain and unvarnished, with the glitter and garland set aside. Here, I am indeed Cicely, the actress who has been blessed to grace the stage and screen for six decades. Yet I am also the church girl who once rarely spoke a word. I am the teenager who sought solace in the verses of the old hymn for which this book is named. I am a daughter and mother, a sister, and a friend. I am an observer of human nature and the dreamer of audacious dreams.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

I really love Matt Scudder and his escapades but this one was over the top in terror and not very enjoyable. I kept going back to it.....listening in small doses. (Usually I am glued to the story and can't put it down) I got through it but not sure why I felt the need to hear the end. Anyway you might like it....I did not.

I throughly enjoyed this book. In fact I have told several friends about it. I think it is well written....love his family stories and the recipes are an unexpected treat. I'm long in the tooth now however I clearly remember some of my Italian family living in a tenement house with their Italian family. They had a great garden and we were always thrilled to get an invite to Sunday dinner, a great childhood memorly that Stanley brought back to me.
Stanley.....write more!
