Story
In her powerful memoir His Bright Light, number-one New York Times best-selling author Danielle Steel opened her heart to share the devastating story of the loss of her beloved son. In A Gift of Hope, she shows us how she transformed that pain into a campaign of service that enriched her life beyond what she could imagine. For 11 years, Danielle Steel took to the streets with a small team to help the homeless of San Francisco. She worked anonymously, visiting the "cribs" of the city's most vulnerable citizens under cover of darkness, distributing food, clothing, bedding, tools, and toiletries.

I am only in chapter 3. The reading voice sounds like a robot. I am going to look to see if it is available by a different reader!

Story
In the summer after graduating from college, Suleika Jaouad was preparing, as they say in commencement speeches, to enter “the real world”. She had fallen in love and moved to Paris to pursue her dream of becoming a war correspondent. The real world she found, however, would take her into a very different kind of conflict zone. It started with an itch - first on her feet, then up her legs, like a thousand invisible mosquito bites. Then a trip to the doctor and, a few weeks shy of her 23rd birthday, a diagnosis: leukemia, with a 35 percent chance of survival.

Having been stuck after the pandemic & an injury that laid me up for 8 weeks, this was the perfect book to end my pity party.

This is educational, motivational & important information. This podcast goes beyond skin color to promote equality. It is an easy listen with Robyn's beautiful voice. Despite the language I think it important for young people going through the changes of puberty time listen with a parent. It opens the door for great conversations.
