Story
Harrison Scott Key was born in Memphis, but he grew up in Mississippi, among pious, Bible-reading women and men who either shot things or got women pregnant. At the center of his world was his larger-than-life father - a hunter, a fighter, and a football coach. Harrison, with his love of books and excessive interest in hugging, couldn't have been less like Pop, and when it became clear that he was not able to kill anything very well or otherwise make his father happy, he resolved to become everything his father was not.

I laughed, I cried
Reviewed: 08-09-19
Bought this to laugh, but didn't know it'd tug on the old heart strings too. I also grew up in rural Mississippi so this was an entertaining (if oft embellished) look at life down South.
Also, Key's narration of his work is fantastic. Very enjoyable.

Good character vulnerability
Reviewed: 08-09-19
I really enjoyed the vulnerability showed by alot of the characters in this one. I had listened to one other Aer-ki Jyr title and liked it, but this one I really connected with. The universe that Jyr has created is very impressive. Very enjoyable story and narration.

Plausible story, great characters
Reviewed: 10-19-18
A fast moving, international story with a lot of interesting characters and a very plausible storyline. Thoroughly entertaining. Also the detail was excellent (nomenclature for weapons and equipment etc) and really added realism.

I have been a LeVar Burton fan ever since I was a kid watching Reading Rainbow. His distinctive vocal style is incredible, and I absolutely loved his "take" on the Book of Job.

This is amazing. I was a big fan of Armitage’s performance in “North & South” so I absolutely loved his take on these classic. Deep, soothing, British, etc. I’d recommend this to anyone that likes poetry!
