Solid mystery/thriller

I found this audiobook entertaining and compelling. The characters are believable and dynamic. I felt that one of the main questions was dragged/hammered for too long, but I enjoyed its resolution.
The voice actor who narrated it did a wonderful job.

I was married to a narcissistic, compulsive liar for several years. This villain is unfortunately believable.
This dual storyline works well.

Excellent space opera, will be a trilogy!
Reviewed: 02-14-24
This space opera is excellent both on its own and as the beginning of an upcoming trilogy. It kept me guessing, excited, following characters I loved from multiple factions while they made choices with far reaching consequences.
The narrator used distinct voices for each. This was especially important in a story where characters sometimes impersonated each other.

Story
Adam Turner works the mid-dawn shift at his local radio station. From 12am to 6am, it’s his job to fill the airtime with old songs, inane chatter, and the occasional talkback caller. It’s a long way from his prime-time slot from over a decade ago, when he was a star in the making. Now there’s no producers, no billboards, no stakes, and not many listeners. His frequent callers are drunk students headed home from a night out, or long-range truck drivers. He is completely alone in the studio from midnight until dawn every night. And then one night at 12:45am, he gets a different kind of call.

Story
For Dee Kwan, every day is the perfect day. No, really. She has a house she loves, a job she adores, and a ridiculously attractive “nemesis” who never seems to mind when she wins their favorite online game. How can life possibly get better? (It can’t, obviously. It can only get much, much worse.) Soon Dee is forced to share her adorably cozy home with her parents and estranged grandmother. Then she’s tossed into the deep end at work, tasked with cleaning up a scandal for the intimidatingly chic luxury fashion firm Celeste. If that weren’t enough, she discovers her hot nemesis works there, too.

Story
Eric disappeared when he was three years old. Ben looked away for only a second at the grocery store, but that was all it took. His brother was gone. Vanished right into the sticky air of the Florida Panhandle. They say you've got only a couple days to find a missing person. Forty-eight hours to conduct searches, knock on doors, and talk to witnesses. Two days to tear the world apart if there's any chance of putting yours back together. That's your window. That window closed five years ago, leaving Ben's life in ruins.

I read this because I loved "Penpal". For the same reason, I knew it was going to be dark.
Developed characters I liked in a story that drew me in.
A lot of time was spent laying the tracks for an avenue of investigation I was looking forward to - then Dathan just dropped it.
It's not that the ending came completely out of nowhere, but it also wasn't developed as well as it should have been.
I didn't like the last quarter of the novel.
Great narration by Lincoln Hoppe.

Story
Dawn isn't a bad person - she's just made some bad choices: wrong guy, wrong friends, wrong everything. But she wasn't expecting her parents to pay a boatload of money to ship her off to Out of the Wild, a wilderness boot camp with a bunch of other messed up kids to learn important "life lessons". It's true that Dawn and the other cubs will learn a lot - but it's not what any of them expect.

This thriller about troubled teens and the young camp counselors hiking and climbing through mountainous wilderness with them keeps me interested and captivated throughout.
The characters are believable, the wilderness intimidating, the twists are plausible.
What I liked most is that the dangers are split fairly evenly between the terrain and the people (both the prisoners and their guards).
