Story
February 1862. The Civil War is less than one year old. The fighting has begun in earnest, and the nation has begun to realize it is in for a long, bloody struggle. Meanwhile, President Lincoln’s beloved eleven-year-old son, Willie, lies upstairs in the White House, gravely ill. In a matter of days, despite predictions of a recovery, Willie dies and is laid to rest in a Georgetown cemetery. “My poor boy, he was too good for this earth,” the president says at the time. “God has called him home.”

Story
This version of the Bennet family - and Mr. Darcy - is one that you have and haven't met before: Liz is a magazine writer in her late 30s who, like her yoga instructor older sister, Jane, lives in New York City. When their father has a health scare, they return to their childhood home in Cincinnati to help - and discover that the sprawling Tudor they grew up in is crumbling, and the family is in disarray.

Great voices, fun twist on this classic tale. I couldn't stop listening....
I was rooting for Liz, even though I knew how it would ultimately end. There are some great little twists to make it more modern, yet, believable.

This book was fun and had some interesting facts and stories, but a very specific target audience. I'm a mid-aged, forward thinking, urban living waitress/parent. The book made some interesting points, but as a person trying to better myself and increase my productivity a little later in life, and not necessarily in the white collar world, it fell short. Glad it was a daily deal.
