Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
ABSOLUTLY
What was one of the most memorable moments of Before We Were Yours?
First two chapters were ok. But after that you cannot leave your car or earphones or whatever. I am a sucker for kids and I found myself upset at the plight of these characters, although I am aware that these things are historically accurate.

Story
Right before the wise old wizard Drum Billet died, he passed on his magical staff of power to the newborn eighth son of an eighth son. Unfortunately, Drum Billet never bothered to check the gender of the newborn baby, and it turns out to be a girl. Now his chauvinistic colleagues are forced to deal with a young girl who has all the qualifications to join their all-male profession. Terry Pratchett's third Discworld novel, Equal Rites, asks many provocative questions about magic, where it goes, where it comes from, and why.

Story
They first appear as a series of dots on astronomical plates, heading from Saturn directly toward Earth. Since the ringed planet carries no life, scientists deduce the mysterious ship to be a visitor from another star. The world's frantic efforts to signal the aliens go unanswered. The first contact is hostile: the invaders blast a Soviet space station, seize the survivors, and then destroy every dam and installation on Earth with a hail of asteriods.

I 100% agree with the the other review. The reader's attempt at the alien names was distracting and annoying. I really didn't find a character I cared much about and by the end I was just hanging on to see if the human's won

Story
Not since the publication of his own beloved classic Lonesome Dove has there been a novel like this one, another big, brilliant, unputdownable saga of the West from Larry McMurtry. Telegraph Days is at once a major work of literature and a completely absorbing read, not just great fiction, but fiction on a great scale.

Annie Potts is a very good reader. I love Lonesome Dove. But i must say this is weak. There is no plot and just ambling around the old west meeting every famous person. Nothing really happens. I suppose it may be enough to have penned Lonesome Dove, one of my all time favorite books but if you're not going to try to wright something close to that PLEASE STOP.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

The narrator is terrific. The book starts out well. But it is not what it seems. I thought that it was to be an adventure that would also have insights into the 1700's in Scotland. After part one, it became a flat out romance novel with romantic interplay between the two main characters going on and on and on. Put another way, guys beware, this is a literary 100% chick flick. By late in part three I found myself very tired of the romance and pining for more plot, and then just wishing that it would be over.

I almost didn't get this book because of the review I read. I am not quite certain what his problem was but I found this book rather good and entertaining. The first 45 minutes to an hour, one had to follow closly but all came clear and became more and more engrossing.
I am happy that I relied upon past experience with this author and not the listener review.
