I liked the complexity of the story. However I feel the reader was a bit TOO energized- often seeming fake excitement. Perhaps two readers?
Also the parkour theme could have been played up more.

Story
Beloved author Elizabeth Gilbert returns to fiction with a unique love story set in the New York City theater world during the 1940s. Told from the perspective of an older woman as she looks back on her youth with both pleasure and regret (but mostly pleasure), City of Girls explores themes of female sexuality and promiscuity, as well as the idiosyncrasies of true love. In 1940, nineteen-year-old Vivian Morris has just been kicked out of Vassar College, owing to her lackluster freshman-year performance.

Good mystery

Although a bit convoluted. Not exactly a thriller. I disliked the reader a Lot. He sounded as though he was reading a love story with his inflections. Next time- get a man with a deep voice-and one that can read mysteries without sounding feminine!

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

A tribute to life of the marsh!
Reviewed: 03-28-19
As a South Mississippi girl, PhD Biologist, worker on boats in Southern Miss.- I found this book a marvelous trip down a familiar path... to the marsh. I could see and smell the Life of the Estuary in the words spoken here. And very Well Done on the soft accents! I will pass this on to my daughters and anyone else who I think will enjoy it! I have Read all of Cornwells books and loved them. They Are eyrie- and the characters gripping! This book was Soo bland and so not up to the standard of the others.
The worst part was the Reader. She had no voice for the different characters. Please get someone else to read the books!
