The lecturer was very engaging, and the content was helpful. It seems to lean somewhat left of center, but most reasonable people should not find it overbearing.

Overall, really helpful.

For context, I am a conservative independent. I think Professor Victor may be left of center. Even so, I thought she had many helpful things to say about American Government and politics. I learned a lot, and agreed with a lot, even if I shook my head a few times.

I find it interesting, and encouraging, that she seems to respect the time honored institutions, even as she identity ways they have let us down over the years. The changes she suggests aren't radical, and in some ways attempt to preserve the status quo. In these way, she seems to share views with classical conservatives.

Nevertheless, she seems to value equality over liberty, and with this conservatives will disagree, especially since she seems to view equality as an equality of outcome. This she views as a matter of justice, but it's not clear why different outcomes are necessarily unjust, and she fails to explain this point.

Overall, I highly recommend this series of lectures, even if there are points at which I strongly disagree.

Concise and precise articulation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A helpful work for anyone. Non-Christians will discover the essence of the Christian faith. Believers will be reminded, encouraged, and equipped to share.

An excellent, short book covering the basics of missions from a Reformed/Calvinistic Baptist perspective.

Generally seems to be a good introduction to logic, though one would walk away from the book under the misleading impression that logic disproves the existence of God. Priest seems to take every opportunity to explain why he doesn't think the Christian theistic proofs hold up, which gives the distinct impression of axe grinding. Granted, some of the theistic proofs offered by Christians do seem to be problematic, such as the teleological arguement, or Pascal's wager. However, Priest seems to either misunderstand or misrepresent the Argument from First Causes, since it is not at all like his example of mothers. Saying that I have a mother, and you have a mother, therefore we must have the same mother is not analogous to saying everything seems to have a cause, and the cause of everything seems to be some prior cause. If we back track the train of causes then we seem to need either an infinite train of causes (an impossibility) or a beginning cause which got everything else going, is a sufficient for it's own existence. Whether or not this works is a serious question, but in any case, it is an argument untouched by Priest, who chose to attack a strawman.

My history prof in university recommended that I find material by Patrick Allitt, especially regarding conservatism and US History. This history of conservatism is very informative, thought provoking, and Allitt is a lively speaker. This pairs well with Kirk, but especially with Scruton.

A really helpful look at the changes which took place in the 1950s, the rise of the Evangelical Right, the problems in the Evangelical Right, and how we might correct our path by imitating Abraham Kyuper.

The reader sounds a bit like Dan Carlin.

A very insightful critique of critical theory, from a liberal point of view. Pluckrose and Lindsay offer powerful counters to the latest manifestation of postmodern philosophy, Theory. Their analysis is clear, cogent, and penetrating. A conservative myself, I still found much to affirm. There really isn't much to say by way of a analysis that Pluckrose and Lindsay have not said here. Conservatives and Liberals agree; Critical Theory is lethal poison to our civilization. We also agree, that we must not allow CT to continue evading rational interaction in the marketplace of ideas.

Conservatives will doubtless not sign off on every jot and tittle, but nevertheless, this work is a contribution to our current conversation of inestimable value.

For the part of the author, I have nothing but praise. Good content, good story telling, good research, all making for an engaging listen.

For the part of the reader, I have one complaint. His tone, pace, and inflection were very good, but his volume was too low.It felt like he was telling me a very long secret.
