Story
Can we learn to love the things we most wish had never happened? Can we really become grateful for grief? Heartbreak? The deaths of loved ones? Stephen Colbert believes we can, and sits down with Anderson to explain why and how. It is a deeply moving, thought-provoking, and at times funny conversation that Anderson says has had a major impact on his life. Uplifting, Heartbreaking and Healing

It’s hard to explain why I’m drawn to Colbert, there are so many levels of feelings…

…listening to his words and feelings on grief, and so much more, confirms just how deep and profound he is. These two men together are so soothing, heartwarming, and all those good feeling words. They are truly special people. Thanks for sharing your stories. You are both amazing.

Story
Looking at real estate isn’t usually a life-or-death situation, but an apartment open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of strangers hostage. The captives include a recently retired couple who relentlessly hunt down fixer-uppers to avoid the painful truth that they can’t fix their own marriage. There’s a wealthy bank director who has been too busy to care about anyone else and a young couple who are about to have their first child but can’t seem to agree on anything.

Characters you grow to like
Reviewed: 07-09-21
As with all Fredrick Blackman books I’ve read, I grew to like these seemingly annoying characters. With each book I’ve learned to stick with them mostly because I want to know how I’ll ever change my mind, which I inevitably do. And, with each book I am reminded to never judge a person without knowing who they really are. That we all have stories to tell. I agree that the reader should work on voices. Just deepening your voice doesn’t necessarily make you sound like a man, or a too-serious woman.

HEADPHONES @ Work kind of listen

I was hooked.

I liked the characters and the story - I was hooked pretty quickly - but it was sometimes difficult to hear through the sound effects. Maybe done on purpose, but I couldn’t listen with ease. Music came on too loud.
