Not bad, a solid introduction to the subject.

Overall it was good.
I didn't love the constant blending between 'Church' history and American history. For the rest of the world, there's a clear difference, for Shelley, it wasn't always clear.
I felt as though anyone could pick up this book, read it through, and gain a great deal of context about the bigger movements and shifts in the story of the Church.
I sensed this was Shelley's aim and thus it's a good intro to the subject matter.
I would have liked to see clearer gospel distinction shown between the Romish institution and the Christian Church, but alas, more blending again.
All-in-all, not bad.

Story
Richard Baxter's A Call to the Unconverted was the Gospel tract of his day. Widely circulated, the book provided the saving knowledge of Christ to a large numbers of readers. A Call to the Unconverted shares the Gospel with clarity, accuracy, and depth. With unmatched thoroughness, Baxter gives listeners much to learn, especially in view of today's "Gospel light" and "easy believism" approach.

Brilliant work from the 17th century

Loved every moment. Gripping, stunning, surprising, life–changing. Richard Baxter not only holds an unrivalled command of the English language, he employs every word, every syllable, every opportunity to bring to bear upon the reader's conscience, their need for salvation in Christ Alone.
