If you like to hurt, this is the book for you. I had to stop listening, the betrayal and constant rejection in the form of humiliation and infidelity was just too much and it kept escalating to the point I was so upset on behalf of the main female that I had to stop.

I've been "chasing the dragon" for WEEKS now, trying to find a worthy title to add to my collection and Kristi Pelton DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I love a strong female lead who isn't wrapped in her own emotions for the whole story and Jenna is everything I love in a strong female lead and is emotionally well throughout the story. Saint is a scarred badass who gains Jenna's trust when she's at her most vulnerable--on the run after her family is targeted and she steals a vaccine from a company that now wants her gone. The story is well done and every detail seems to be placed with reason---to say I loved this book is an understatement! I'm so glad I took a chance on this, it was a hot slow burn that kept me on the edge of my seat for the whole thrilling , action-packed ride! MORE PLEASE! :)

The problem with Wake was that he was understandable. He was the type of villain who literally scared the absolute shit out of you because you knew that under the right circumstances, you could end up exactly like him.
