A great summary of Egypt's interesting people.

A great book. A very good introduction into Egyptian history, my first. I read the book while listening on Audible, but at 2x the speed. The narrator is way too slow at regular speed, so I recommend doubling the speed!

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. RC Bray was amazing! He made the book laugh out loud funny and the book was one of my favorites of all time! I did not hear the Will Wheaton version, but from what I'm hearing it sounds like something between your hand getting stuck in a hot toaster or stepping on chips of glass. Definitely try to find the RC Bray version.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

The story is good, but yet I feel that it's really her performance makes this book an Audible classic.

Story
Caesar Augustus's story, one of the most riveting in western history, is filled with drama and contradiction, risky gambles and unexpected success. He began as a teenage warlord, whose only claim to power was as the heir of the murdered Julius Caesar. Mark Antony dubbed him "a boy who owes everything to a name," but in the years to come the youth outmaneuvered all the older and more experienced politicians and was the last man standing in 30 BC.

Another very respectable book written by Adrian Goldsworthy! I wholeheartedly enjoyed listening to the Audible version of this book. I love the little tidbits that you pick up such as Augustus' use of sayings such as "hurry slowly." These stories go a long way in humanizing one of the most important people in Roman history.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

I have listened to this Audible presentation starring Tim Curry, Alan Cumming and others twice and read the book several times as well. It is something I like to do around Halloween every few years. it's is a splendid work of art and doesn't necessarily read like it's 124 years old! One of my favorites of all time!

Winner of the 1961 Hugo Award for Best Novel and widely considered one of the most accomplished, powerful, and enduring classics of modern speculative fiction, Walter M. Promising premise, dreadful delivery!

I've listened to a lot of books on Audible and while the narration was terrific, the story here was pitiful. The first section was okay,(3-4 out of 10) but the second and third acts were so hard to care about or be interested in that it was painful. I cannot believe this is an American Classic. It is something that I wouldn't force my worst enemy to read. I listen to and read a lot of books and this is absolutely horrible. I don't know how people can give this book a favorable review. I love the idea of science fiction and religion melding together and this one could not pull it off.
A for effort. Given to me for completing the book!

it was hard to stay awake while driving listening to this! I'm sorry to say but most of these stories of the warmer collection have absolutely no Intrigue or decent plot. This one had me looking for my own personal sauna and lawn mower to lock the door so I could roast to death because that would be better than listening to this bullshit.
