Story
After three Army deployments—earning two Bronze Stars and a Combat Infantryman’s Badge—Pete Hegseth knows what it takes to be a modern warrior. In Modern Warriors he presents candid, unfiltered conversations with fellow modern warriors and digs for real answers to key questions like: What inspired them to serve? What is their legacy? What does sacrifice really mean to them? How do they handle loss? And what can civilians learn from this latest generation of veterans? These brave men and women take you inside the firefight, sharing the harrowing realities of war.

Excellent book. Inspiring and patriotic stories of average men and women who sacrifice themselves so that others may live free.

Two dimensional characters with unrealistic interactions. Two thirds into the story, new characters are introduced with absolutley no relevance to the story line. Very disappointed.

Story for pleasure, or Political rant
Reviewed: 06-17-16
This book was very disappointing. It started strong, but turned into a Liberal, conspiracy-theory tirade about the US government. Also, as the title suggests, it should have some biblical aspects, but it turned into a bad "fire and brimstone" sermon. Basically, the two taboos in any conversation: Religion and Politics.

Story
When their car broke down in a dangerous neighborhood, Kerri and her friends thought they would find safe shelter in what they thought was an old abandoned row house. They were wrong on all counts. The residents of the row house live in the cellar and rarely come out in the light of day. They’re far worse than anything on the streets outside. And they don’t like intruders. Before the sun comes up, Kerri and her friends will fight for their very lives…though death is only part of their nightmare.

Lots of gore, but little plot.
Reviewed: 07-26-15
What would have made Urban Gothic better?
More detail on the history of how the creatures came to be. Also, no real conclusion at the end.
Has Urban Gothic turned you off from other books in this genre?
Excessive gore. Some is necessary for story's sake, but this was a gross-out festival used en lieu of originality.
What didn’t you like about Jeff Pringle’s performance?
Obviously a narrator with little to no knowledge of the use of "street slang". Sounded silly and unrealistic.
What character would you cut from Urban Gothic?
"Paul". Simply a character used as an excuse to detail more brutality and shock value.
