Outlander with a Surprise Ending

I love the Outlander book series and know the details of them quite well. This book seemed to have many details almost down to wording. It was a struggle for me to keep listening to the narrators and difficult to find the right speed. She speaks quickly and as somebody doing an American accent. And he speaks really laboriously slowly and as somebody trying to do a Scottish accent. Both accents were poor in my opinion, and difficult to listen to.

The story had differences & twists that were not a part of Outlander and as the title of my review says there is a surprise ending that i enjoyed as fantastical as it was, but that is kind of the whole idea of this book, is it not. The focus during parts of the book around human trafficking and creating awareness for that in an innate way in this story was surprising as well. It was overall a good book but disheartening how much it was like Oulander, as though the author read Outlander & was inspired to write though the same story. Predictable from that perspective, down to the castle cook greeting Colin and glancing the disheveled, oddly dressed woman brought back with the same wariness and wording.

Exceptional story that had me on the edge of my seat. The man who read it is so incredibly talented. I want to now listen to anything he reads as he made every characters voice so believable. I also want to read all the other books this author has out! It was excellent! Definitely recommend!

Loved it!! Absolutely profound as it's from the perspective of an everyday German - therefore a more insightful perspective for the majority of us who aren't in politics or the military service. It clearly outlines how everyday people like you and I got caught up in the pitfalls that they didn't see until it was too late. We have the advantage of history on our side as well as Defying Hitler by Sebastian Haffner to show us what not to do. Excellent read! shared with a dozen or more friends directly upon completion of the book!

Whether in Event Planning or Hair Styling, from Texas or Wisconsin, Raised Pentecostal or ;) Pentecostal this book was so relatable and hilarious for any girl who remembers first being on her own in a new city at a young age and naive as can be! Loved it!
