Persecution and Perseverance
Reviewed: 07-30-24
How despite the bad kidnappings that took place everyone was basically good which kept the reader engaged in the story because you had to know how it and everyone faired in the end. It was a wonderful ending to a terrible beginning for the characters.

I like that nothing was given away. The ending was a nice twist and unexpected. Also the narrators voice was pleasant. I will read another of her books.

Story
Dr. Amador's research on poor insight was inspired by his success helping his brother Henry, who had schizophrenia, accept treatment. Like tens of millions of others diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and addictions, Henry did not believe he was ill. In this latest edition, all chapters have been updated with new research on anosognosia (lack of insight) and much more detail on LEAP. Listeners will find expanded guidance on how to learn and use LEAP.

Most helpful and hopeful information on mental illness.

Most helpful and hopeful information that I have found on understanding how to help someone with schizophrenia. It is also the most helpful information I found to help myself deal with having a child diagnosed with schizophrenia. I am so grateful that Dr. Amado wrote this book. I wish to thank him for caring enough to publish this book.
