The promise of eternal life has been a clarion call to the saints for centuries, rousing them to action and heroic virtue. They knew that, compared with eternity, this life is but a shadow. We must seek the same destination as the saints in the midst of a world filled with amusements and vanities that constantly threaten our journey to Heaven.

The world, especially us Christians, are lukewarm. We must wake up. This is a good book to help with that.
P.S. I’m so glad the publisher finally made this into an audiobook. I’ve been waiting years. I hope they’ll do it with others.

St. Alphonsus is a doctor of the Church. This book shows why he has been declared a Saint. This is a classic and everyone should read it, and, I’d argue, yearly. I’m always amazed when I return to it. Please read it. If we all did, we’d be better off and so would the world.

Story
St. Manuel felt called to the priesthood at the age of 12. After his ordination in 1901, he was sent to preach at a church which he found to be unclean and abandoned. There, praying before a Tabernacle covered in dust and cobwebs, with torn altar cloths and oil dripping onto the floor from the sanctuary lamp, he decided to dedicate his life to providing for Jesus's needs in the Tabernacle. This saintly bishop will help you to receive Holy Communion more fervently and to love Jesus more deeply in Eucharistic Adoration.

Story
Of all things Catholic, there is nothing that is so familiar as the Mass. With its unchanging prayers, the Mass fits Catholics like their favorite clothes. Yet most Catholics sitting in the pews on Sundays fail to see the powerful supernatural drama that enfolds them. Pope John Paul II described the Mass as "Heaven on Earth," explaining that what "we celebrate on Earth is a mysterious participation in the heavenly liturgy."

All Christians and Catholic-Christians should listen to this. It is so important for all of us to understand this, especially Christians, especially so there is no confusion. So too Catholics must know this information and take it to heart. Catholics must live out of this truth and thus reality.
God Bless Dr. Hahn. This book and Dr. Brant Pitre's "Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist" are possibly the most important books for the majority of Christians to read, after the Bible and then the Catechism of course.
